Strawberry Cheesecake Porridge

Sorry for the long hiatus. I've been away on vacation, returning from sunny, warm Florida just this week, back to freezing temperatures here in London. I love my smoothie bowls but when the temperatures are in the negative figures I really need something warm to start the day. I came up with this delicious recipe today, Strawberry Cheesecake flavoured porridge. The cashew butter and lemon zest are what really make this dish. Cashew butter makes it extra creamy with a good dollop of healthy fats. The lemon zest cannot be removed, without it, this dish doesn't work.



Serves: 1




Half cup organic sprouted oats

One & half cups hot water or dairy free milk

Two tsps of vanilla extract

One tbsp cashew butter

Four or five fresh strawberries, sliced or diced

Zest of one small lemon

Stevia to taste

One tbsp maple syrup

Coconut flakes - optional

Vanilla protein powder - optional






  1. Place oats into small saucepan and pour over the hot water or dairy free milk. Leave to soak for 10-15mins, this will reduce the cooking time.

  2. When ready to cook your oats, place the saucepan over a high heat, add the vanilla extract and stevia drops or alternative sweetener and stir. Place over a high heat until bubbling, stirring continuously then reduce the heat to a simmer, continue to stir until porridge reaches desired consistency. Add extra liquid if required.

  3. Once consistency is achieved, stir through half of the lemon zest  & cashew nut butter. Pour porridge into a bowl. 

  4. Top with fresh strawberries, the remaining zest and drizzle with maple syrup. A sprinkle of coconut flakes if using or
