Even better paired with toasted marshmallows, chocolate chip cookies and a roaring fireside seat. After all, you wont feel as bad when you can't leave home to get to the gym!
This clean spicy hot chocolate takes the age old classic beverage to another level with warming spices like cayenne to boost your metabolism and immunity and cinnamon to level blood sugar and boost the healing properties of the cacao.
All the spices work together to add an unexpected layer of flavor that is absolutely addictive. Make this simple drink a not so guilty pleasure!
SPICED HOT CHOCOLATE
1 Cup of organic full-fat coconut milk
1 cup of filtered water
4 tbsp raw cacao powder
2 tbsp raw cacao nibs
1 tbsp ground cinnamon - I use Ceylon Cinnamon, sometimes known as true cinnamon
Pinch, approx 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
Pinch, approx 1/8 tsp chilli pepper
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Pinch of pink Himalayan salt
A few drops of stevia, to taste
Blend all ingredients together in a Vitamix of high powered blender until thoroughly combined. If using a Vitamix continue to blend until hot, otherwise once blended pour into a saucepan and gently heat over a medium heat until hot.
Add stevia to taste, & top with compliant marshmallows if desired.
Pour into two mugs and enjoy.
