Maple Cinnamon Roasted Pears

January 6, 2017

First things first, welcome to my beautiful new blog. I really hope you like it as much as I do. As you may know PALEOinheels was/is my first ever venture into blogging & building websites. When I started just over two years ago, everything was new to me. I had never done anything like this and wasn't entirely sure how things 'should' look or work exactly.

I feel I have learnt a number of things in the last two years, many about myself & body but also about what I want from a blog. I started this blog to record my Paleo lifestyle journey in eliminating the symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have written the odd piece about this but what I really enjoy is creating new Paleo recipes and writing about things I love, such as fashion & shopping.

So to sum it up, this blog is about me, the PALEOinheels. What I love & what I love to do. I write for myself and about what makes me happy. I can only hope you enjoy the same things as I do and therefore enjoy reading this blog as much as I do creating it.

To celebrate the new look home of PALEOinheels I have created this delicious little number. Maple Roasted Cinnamon & Nutmeg Pears, perfect piled on top of vanilla coconut yoghurt, a sprinkling of Cinnamon Nuts (coming soon) & an extra drizzle of maple syrup.

Serves: One

Ingredients:

  • One ripe pear, cut in half lengthways and core removed

  • Small knob of grass fed butter or coconut oil

  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

  • One dessertspoon of maple syrup

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 200c and place the two pear halves onto a baking sheet.

2. Place a small piece of butter/coconut oil in the cored out centre of each pear. Next drizzle the maple syrup evenly over the pear halves and then sprinkle both with the spices.

3. Once the oven is hot, place the baking tray onto the top shelf and bake for 20mins or until pears are soft , fragrant and almost falling apart.

4. Enjoy with coconut yoghurt, or with your morning porridge or even paleo ice cream.

Until next time..
