RED BERRY & BAOBAB SMOOTHIE BOWL

RED BERRY & BAOBAB SMOOTHIE BOWL

ANTIOXIDANT & ANTI-INFLAMMATORY, PROTEIN PACKED BREAKFAST THAT THINKS IT'S DESSERT!

SERVES: 2

INGREDIENTS:

  • Two sliced & frozen bananas

  • One cup of frozen red berries such as a mixture of strawberries & raspberries

  • Two large handfuls of organic frozen spinach

  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup dairy-free milk such as almond milk or coconut

  • One scoop of strawberry flavoured Paleo protein powder - I use Carnipro

  • One dessertspoon of baobab powder

OPTIONAL:

  • Toppings of choice, such as fresh berries, bee pollen, hemp hearts, cacao nibs, chia seeds etc 

  • Superfood powders – such as Moringa Leaf, amazing greens etc

  • Ground flax seed or dash of oil

  • Nut butter - I love smooth cashew nut butter

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place all ingredients apart from any toppings you wish to use into your blender & leave for five minutes to allow them to thaw slightly (it makes it easier on your blender if you don’t have a Vitamix or equivalent)

  2. Blend until the frozen ingredients start to come together. This may take a few minutes & you may need to scrape down the sides of the blender as you go. Blend until you have the consistency of thick ice cream which you could stand a spoon up in!

  3. Place into two bowls and top with your desired toppings.

  4. Eat & enjoy!
