MAPLE & CINNAMON ROASTED PEARS

PERFECT PILED ATOP VANILLA COCONUT YOGHURT OR YOUR MORNING PORRIDGE WITH A SPRINKLING OF CRUSHED CINNAMON NUTS & AN EXTRA DRIZZLE OF MAPLE SYRUP. 

ROASTED MAPLE PEARS

SERVES: 1

INGREDIENTS:

  • One ripe pear, cut in half lengthways and core removed

  • Small knob of grass fed butter or coconut oil

  • Pinch of ground cinnamon

  • Pinch of ground nutmeg

  • One dessertspoon of maple syrup

OPTIONAL

  • Vanilla coconut yoghurt

  • Chopped nuts

  • Bee pollen

  • Drizzle of melted chocolate ganache made from 1/4 cup raw cacao powder, 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup and 1/8 cup of melted coconut oil and whisked together

  • Extra maple syrup

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Preheat oven to 200c and place the two pear halves onto a baking sheet

  2. Place a small piece of butter/coconut oil in the cored out centre of each pear. Next drizzle the maple syrup evenly over the pear halves and then sprinkle both with the spices.

  3. Once the oven is hot, place the baking tray onto the top shelf and bake for 20mins or until pears are soft , fragrant and almost falling apart.

  4. Enjoy with coconut yoghurt, or with your morning porridge or even paleo ice cream & a drizzle of melted chocolate.
